The AGA is a national, multi-species organization dedicated to protecting and promoting grassfed producers and products through national communication, education, research and marketing efforts. American Grassfed Association (AGA) standards are intended to incorporate the attributes of open pasture, humane animal care, no antibiotics, no hormones, and the production of nutritious and healthy meats. These standards apply to all farms and ranches approved by the American Grassfed Association (AGA) . Only farms and ranches annually certified as following these standards may use AGA’s American Grassfed Association logos or Association trademarks. We at River Taw Farms have received the highest level of certification through AGA, and are audited yearly by both the AGA and Animal Welfare Approved organizations. All of our feed, from the hay we produce on premises to supplemental minerals and nutrients are audited by the AGA and must be proved natural and free of animal by product before we are able to give any type of feed to our animals.
Our name is inspired by a river and its surrounding moorlands in Devon, England. The River Taw rises at Taw Head, a spring on the central northern flanks of The Dartmoor National Park. It reaches the Bristol Channel 45 miles away on the north coast of Devon at a joint estuary mouth which it shares with the River Torridge.
