River Taw Farms is built on the belief that people should know exactly what we do to produce our natural, grassfed beef, so that our customers can feel secure that our animals are treated humanely, without using hormones or antibiotics, pesticides or herbicides. Find out more about the Black Angus Breed, our treatment practices, what our cattle eat, our certifying agencies, and other facts about natural grassfed beef in the following pages.
Our name is inspired by a river and its surrounding moorlands in Devon, England. The River Taw rises at Taw Head, a spring on the central northern flanks of The Dartmoor National Park. It reaches the Bristol Channel 45 miles away on the north coast of Devon at a joint estuary mouth which it shares with the River Torridge.
